J.J. Abrams and the infamous ‘Mystery Box’

Film director J.J. Abrams was invited to a TED conference in March, 2007 to offer his contribution to the TED Talks presentation series. During the speech he talks about his grandfather as an inspiration in his life, among many other topics. He traces his love for the unseen mystery, a passion that is evident in his films and television shows, including Cloverfield, Lost and Alias, back to its magical beginnings.
