The following is part of a weekly compilation of movie reviews from The Buzz Track staff. These movies were watched in the previous week, and the reviews were originally posted on Letterboxd.
Chaos Walking (2021)

MPAA RATING: PG-13
GENRES: Action, Adventure, Fantasy.
LENGTH: 1h 49min.
LANGUAGE: English.
WHERE TO RENT: JustWatch or Prime Video.
★★☆☆☆ | WATCHED: June 14, 2021.
Too much “noise” and not enough substance worth remembering. The concept of the story seems far-fetched and leans into the realm of unbelievability. The saving grace for the entire movie is just watching Daisy Ridley react to just about everything around her without really saying anything, but I wonder why she doesn’t just tell poor Spiderman to shut the hell up once in a while.
Tom and Jerry (Year)
DIRECTOR: Tim Story.
WRITERS: Kevin Costello.
MPAA RATING: PG
GENRES: Animation, Comedy, Family.
LENGTH: 1h 41min.
LANGUAGE: English.
WHERE TO RENT: JustWatch or Prime Video.
★★☆☆☆ | WATCHED: June 14, 2021.
It is a cute little family movie, but it does not quite live up to the original Tom and Jerry animated short films. It feels like the famous animal duo is nothing more than a side hustle sub-plot in a feature-length movie named after them. I would only recommend the movie as something to watch with the family and with the kids. But if you are looking for something very similar to the old-school cartoons, then you should pass right along to something else to watch.
